Diversity of Enterprises Showcased at The Dock

Harnessing Creativity’s Industry led seminar showcasing the diversity of Irish and UK creative enterprises and practices took place at The Dock recently.

The seminar saw a vibrant, dynamic, mix of creative industry experts descend on Carrick-on-Shannon for the day from throughout the UK and Ireland who shared their knowledge and cutting edge research of the Creative Industries.

The focus for the day was around ‘Creative Enterprise and Entrepreneurship’ and the speakers offered a balance of industry knowledge and globally recognised research in this area.

Eight specialist speakers talked about their experiences of taking ideas from conception right through to fruition.

In celebration of the Year of Irish Design 2015, there was a particular focus on product design, creative industry research, healthcare design, arts, management and freelancing in the digital era, start-ups and expanding into International markets.

The speakers were available throughout the day to talk to the participants and this was a fantastic once off opportunity for all businesses mainstream and creative to engage directly with leading edge experts.

This seminar was part of the Expanded Territories showcase which ran at Leitrim sculpture Centre from March 13-28.

The exhibition celebrated the work of 31 creative businesses from Leitrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone and the North West region who have taken part in Harnessing Creativity Project’s Creative Labs over the past twelve months.

Harnessing Creativity is a cross-border project delivered by the Local Enterprise Office,Leitrim and funded through the European Union’s INTERREG IVA programme managed by the Special European Union’s Programme Body (SEUPB) HCP is delivered in partnership with the Irish Central Border Area Network (ICBAN), Leitrim County Council, Fermanagh District Council, Omagh Enterprise Company, Tyrone Donegal Partnership and the Leitrim Design House.
