O’Neill Welcomes Chinese Interns To Stormont
Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Michelle O’Neill today met with a group of Chinese interns at Stormont.
The Interns are currently visiting CAFRE Enniskillen Campus as part of the Dubai International Thoroughbred Internship (DITI) programme, which was established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. The programme, which runs over 10 months, provides the interns with experience of caring for horses alongside a range of professional skills such as marketing, sales and business administration. The Chinese interns are based at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, England and Kildangan Stud, Kildare.
Welcoming the students to Parliament Buildings, Stormont, Minister O’Neill said: “I am delighted to meet with the Chinese interns who are participating in this excellent internship programme which is sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed.
“I appreciate the excellent collaboration between Darley and CAFRE at Enniskillen Campus which provides our visitors with very positive experiences of the equine industry in the north of Ireland and hospitality of local communities. I am also very grateful to Darley who provide CAFRE students with strong support throughout their studies at Enniskillen Campus.”
Speaking on behalf of Darley, James Hall, who is based in Newmarket said: “I am delighted to meet the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development and I appreciate her support for Darley’s DITI programme. This is the second year that our Chinese interns have visited the North of Ireland, we are always very impressed with the staff and students at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus and I look forward to developing our relationships in the years ahead.”
