First Mobile Business Event Set For Omagh

Focusing on bringing local businesses, innovators and experts together to explore and share their knowledge, Omagh is getting ready to host Ireland’s first mobile business conference.

Due to be held at Omagh Enterprise Centre in May, the ‘DO Mobile’ conference organised by Digital Omagh consider how digital content and apps can be used to achieve maximum impact on businesses. It will focus on four key areas including sales and marketing, finance and operations, local business case studies and an ‘iPhoneography’ masterclass with Ireland’s leading international award winning iPhoneographer Brendan O’Se.

Nicholas O’Shiel, Chief Executive of Omagh Enterprise Company expressed delight at staging Ireland’s first mobile business conference and hosting iPhoneographer Brendan O’Se.

He said, “The aim of the conference is to connect people, share knowledge, experience and insights into the world of mobile technology and look at local businesses who are doing it well. Delegates will discover how mobile business makes sense in that it can save money, increase sales and above all help them ‘do’ business better.”

‘Do Mobile’ conference is sponsored by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Omagh Enterprise Centre and Bank of Ireland.

The Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, welcomed the conference noting that over 80 per-cent of the population now use mobile phones and iPads.

He said, “They (digital technologies) are faster, more versatile and can reach a wider audience and are becoming an evermore essential tool for small businesses which are the lifeblood of our local economy. The Council is committed to supporting the business sector in the district and is delighted to be a sponsor of the DO Mobile conference, which will benefit local businesses.”

Hillary Nelson, from conference sponsor Bank of Ireland who will be there on the day to promote their banking apps said, “This event will give local businesses the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the apps available and how they can benefit their business.”
