Innovation Award With Chicken Burger For Linden Foods

Co. Tyrone meat processing company Linden Foods has been awarded with the Marks & Spencer (M&S) Best New Product Development Award for its innovative coriander and lemon chicken burger.

“The idea behind this fresh and innovative new product was to create a wow factor that people would want to buy time and time again throughout the summer,” said Gerry Maguire, managing director of Linden Foods.

“We chose to use chicken because it carries flavours well and stands out from all the beef burgers offered at this time of year. We wanted to offer a tasty chicken product that was neither frozen nor covered in breadcrumbs.”

He added that this accolade was a testament to the hard work and commitment of the team at Linden Foods.

“We set ourselves very high standards and are extremely passionate about producing exciting, flavoursome products that match the high expectations of the M&S customer,” he said.

“The creativity and innovation and the use of global inspired tastes, married with a great relationship with M&S, has delivered a very exciting burger for The Grill Range and it is great to be recognised.”

The company is now a major supplier of value-added beef, chicken and lamb to M&S and has developed a supply chain programme with the supermarket that includes the Northern Ireland College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise.
