Diversity in Games Event

Free event to highlight the benefits of diversity in games development

Northern Ireland Screen is hosting a seminar on diversity in games on Friday 24 June 2016 from 14:00 to 17:00 in The Lab at The Mac, Belfast.

This seminar is an opportunity for all Northern Ireland based developers to discuss how increasing diversity can help make better games, what the barriers to increasing diversity are and how as an industry we can be more inclusive.

Speakers include:

  • Brenda Romero – an award-winning game designer, artist and Fulbright scholar who entered the video game industry in 1981. As a designer, she has contributed to many seminal titles, including the Wizardry and Jagged Alliance series and titles in the Ghost Recon and Dungeons & Dragons franchises.
  • Specialisterne NI – a social enterprise that works to enable jobs within the IT sector for people with Asperger’s, or who are on the Autism spectrum.

The event will also include Games NI panel session, Q&A and networking.

Who should attend?
Game producers, studio heads and professionals working in the sector. Students studying game development or animation may also find these sessions useful.
