Today, the 2017 Omagh Business Awards, sponsored by SSE and organised by the Ulster Herald and Omagh Chamber of Commerce, start the process of publishing the 2017 nominees – giving the general public the opportunity to vote for their favorites.

THE AWARDS

The Awards aim to celebrate local business dedication, commitment and success and in particular those who show initiative, business acumen and a great determination to grow the local economy. All nominees have been invited to the Gala Awards Night in the Silverbirch Hotel on Friday, May 19, with the recipients set to be announced in true Oscar style.

PREVIOUS SUCCESS

Delighted with the awards initiative, Nicholas O’Shiel, president of Omagh Chamber of Commerce stated, “The Business Awards are about celebrating the success of local businesses and employers, recognising their hard work and paying tribute to their many achievements. Omagh has much to be proud of and the awards recognise not just the companies that contribute to the vibrancy of the district, but the talented and brilliant people employed within them across a range of business sectors. I would like to take this opportunity to thank SSE for their principal sponsorship and all of our category sponsors who have made the awards possible.” UH

Nigel McDonagh, editor of the added, “A vibrant business community is essential as it forms the backbone of any local economy. The awards aim to raise company awareness, increase networking opportunities and improve company image and customer confidence. Ultimately, the awards recognise the efforts of local companies who have one thing in common, the dedication to achieve excellence.”
