The government is currently supporting four broad competitions with up to £105 million available for projects that can help build infrastructure for connected and autonomous transport systems of the future.

Support is available in the areas of:

  • low carbon drive systems – a share of £35 million for collaborative low carbon technologies to match fund collaborative R&D pre-production projects (competition closes 27 September 2017)
  • autonomous vehicle solutions – a share of up to £25 million to research and develop new connected and autonomous vehicle technologies (competition closes 25 October 2017)
  • Vehicle to Grid (V2G) charging/capacity systems – a share of up to £20 million across three competitions to research technologies and business models that develop future V2G products and services (competition closes 18 October 2017)

These competitions are collaborative and are open to UK based business of any size or research and technology organisations who are collaborating with UK businesses.
