Start-Up World Cup Competition

Northern Ireland technology entrepreneurs are encouraged to sign up for the Start-Up World Cup competition

Participants in the Start-Up World Cup competition will have the chance to pitch for the chance to win funding of $1 million.

The competition is sponsored by Belfast City Council, Ulster University and Global Shapers Community Belfast.

Teams from 30 regions around the world will compete in the grand final in San Francisco on 11 May 2018.

Following an initial assessment, a shortlist of 10-15 businesses will go forward to a regional heat which will be held in Belfast on 16 January 2017. A judging panel of local experts will announce a winner on the night.

The competition is open to any technology start-up. The judges are looking for forward-thinking technology, innovative ideas and an ability to scale.

How to enter
As part of the application, start-ups must submit an eight-page slidedeck covering product, traction, funding, competitors and competitive advantage. Entries can be made online. The deadline is 17:00 on 8 December 2017.
