Can you describe your business?
I am a freelance I T Specialist with a vast amount of experience. My work includes website design (including using the following platforms: Dreamweaver, Joomla and WordPress), SEO, Social Media, Image Editing, Video Editing, Text Marketing (SMS), Email Marketing, One-to-One tuition on a wide range of IT applications etc. etc. The one thing I love is a fresh challenge!
Why did you start your own business?
Having worked for South West College as a Senior Lecturer in Computer Studies and Deputy Head of School for over thirty years (I even introduced the first computer to the College) I was in need of a fresh challenge so after leaving the College and with the help of the Omagh Enterprise Company I set myself up as a freelance I T Specialist.
What are the best things about running your own business?
I am independent – “the buck stops here”. My hours are completely flexible. I feel a great sense of achievement when a project is completed to specification and satisfaction of the client.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
Changing technology in the I T Sector but this makes it exciting. I am really blown away by the changes in technology over the last forty years. The secret is keeping up but luckily I have excellent associates who have kept me up to speed.
