Peter Robinson Says NI Is ‘Prime Location’ For Overseas Investors

Northern Ireland has become a “prime location” for overseas investors, according to the first minister.

Peter Robinson also said the executive had made “growing” the Northern Ireland economy its top priority.

He was speaking at a British Irish Chamber of Commerce dinner in Belfast City Hall on Wednesday night.

Mr Robinson also welcomed “the ever improving relationship” between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland on business matters.

He said: “The executive works tirelessly to market Northern Ireland and to promote the potential for trade.

“Recent investment announcements from global companies such as Ryobi, Stream, Allstate, Fujitsu, Terex and Bombardier are creating new jobs in emerging industries.

“Importantly, 75% of new investors who have come to Northern Ireland have already reinvested.

“This sends a strong signal to the rest of the world that Northern Ireland is a prime location to invest and grow your business.

“An improving economic climate in Great Britain and the emergence of the Republic of Ireland from its economic problems are certainly welcome developments for the local economy. ”
