Public Procurement Support Launched For NI SMEs

InterTradeIreland has launched a range of tender support to provide SMEs with the knowledge and practical skills to successfully tender for public sector contracts.

InterTradeIreland is urging SMEs in Northern Ireland to prepare for changes to the way in which public sector services are tendered.

Over the coming year, there will be significant changes in the public sector procurement market in Ireland and SMEs should be prepared for these changes.

In addition, the Central Procurement Directorate (CPD), the lead body responsible for reviewing and developing procurement policy in Northern Ireland, plans to adopt a ‘common goods and services’ approach, increasingly moving towards greater collaboration.

To support local businesses, InterTradeIreland has launched an enhanced range of tender support to provide SMEs with the knowledge and practical skills to tender successfully for public sector contracts in this changing environment.

The support includes:

  • Meet the buyer events – access key public sector buyers on the island under one roof.
  • Tender workshops – workshops providing SMEs, whether new to public tendering or wanting to enhance their knowledge, with tender skills and insights.
  • Consortia service – providing advice and facilitation to businesses aiming to form joint bids.
  • Tender alerts – receiving the latest tender information to your phone for free.
  • Information and guides – information you need to help you tender more successfully.
