Omagh Team Awarded Money Management Prize

A team of young people from the South West College have been named People’s Prize winners of Northern Ireland National final of UK-wide money management competition.

Motor Vehicle Movers, a team of young people from the Omagh campus now qualifies for the grand final of the ‘Money for Life Challenge’, a money management competition run by Lloyds Banking Group with NOW Group.

Motor Vehicle Motors presented their project to a panel of esteemed judges and guests at the national final held at Stormont Parliament Buildings in Belfast last week with other teams from Northern Ireland whose projects have shown the Money for Life Challenge judges that they have what it takes to improve not just their own money management skills, but those of their friends, families and even their local communities.

The local team have been creating leaflets and spoken at Open Days to help raise awareness of ways students can save money on course costs and support other young trainees and prospective trainees with financial advice relating to their particular course of study.

Motor Vehicle Movers undertook their project over a three month period having been awarded a £500 grant from Money for Life to put their ideas into action.
