The Beauty Bars are the first of its kind in this area to offer hair and beauty treatments alongside your shopping We offer Hair/Make-up/Waxing and Nails under the one roof. We welcome walk-in clients as well as appointment and offer a 24/7 online Booking system for added convenience
Why did you start your own business?
Myself & Una are both mums of 3 young kids and knew how difficult it can be to get last minute beauty or hair appointments! We looked into this gap in the market and started making plans. Our late nights and hard work paid off and Tempest offered the perfect premises for us. Easy parking, late nights and being able to drop in for appointments is great for everyone!
What are the best things about running your own business?
Ourselves it allows us to guage customer feedback and continually improve our business. We have great staff and work closely with them on choosing retail items/setting up masterclasses & lessons etc. Its lovely to have freedom to do all of these things and the perk of the odd blowdry is a delight!!

What are the main challenges facing the business?
Its a fast changing business and so important to keep up to date with market trends. We are lucky our girls are on their game with social media and strive to keep one step ahead. With social media we have to remind ourselves with 24hr access from our phones to stop working!
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
Research your market thoroughly. Put yourself in the shoes of your customer to think of every possible angle. There will always be bumps so its important to keep positive and keep looking ahead.
