Can you describe your business?
Hair Flair Salon is a friendly, homely salon offering a very relaxed atmosphere. We are situated in the heart of the village in Beragh and welcome customers from all over. We offer a range of different services for a variety of ages.
Why did you start your own business?
In my 15 years of hairdressing, I gained lots of experience and built up my clientele working in Omagh. I was also very fortunate to have my own salon at home to accommodate clients. I then went travelling for a year and on my return, took a job in Hair Flair. After seven years, I was offered the opportunity to take over the business and here I am today.
What are the best things about running your own business?
The best thing would be job satisfaction, watching my clients walk out of the salon happy and feeling good about themselves makes me proud.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
The main challenges facing any business in the hair industry would be the rapid growth and competition of other salons. Therefore, by keeping up to date with trends and attending regular courses, we are able to offer new products and services.
What advice would you give to someone starting up?
Go for it! But be prepared to work hard if you want to see results. The hard work will pay off.
