Can you describe your business?

CSM Aesthetics is a specialist aesthetic business focusing solely on dermal fillers & anti wrinkle treatments.

Why did you start your own business?

I qualified as a young nurse in 2012 and have worked consistently in improving my skills and knowledge since. I am a big fan of aesthetics myself and always was amazed by how they worked on improving features. I am the type of person who is always looking for a challenge so I researched the best training academy’s which led me to Harley Street where I received my training led by consultant plastic surgeon Adrian Richards and his hand picked team. Aesthetics is a big demand in the UK and I think there is a high demand for this type of business locally as more and more people are having treatments and travelling large distances to get them.

What are the best things about running your own business?

Ultimately the best thing about having my own business is meeting new people and enhancing/improving their insecurities. Nothing can compare to seeing someone overjoyed and knowing you have made feel confident in themselves. A client will never forget the way you made them feel and if they recommend you to one person it can build up a good client base.

A great perk of running this type of business is the flexibility to choose your own hours. No two people are the same just like no two days are the same.

What are the main challenges facing the business?

Being from a rural area one of the biggest challenges is Changing peoples ideologies and perceptions of what I am promoting due to lack of education and bad publicity that aesthetics has been faced with previously.

Of course there is also lots of competition in aesthetics and when clients are trusting you with something which will enhance them physically they want to be treated by the best.

What advice would you give to someone starting a business?

Starting your own business especially if its your first is no easy task but if you have good initiative, drive & good support you can achieve anything. If it doesn’t go to plan to start with, don’t bury your head in the sand. Seek advice on what went wrong, how to improve and go at it again.

Can you describe your experience of running a business in three words or less?

Stressful, Flexible, Rewarding.
