Can you describe your business?
We are a fashion forward clothing boutique, founded by Melissa McGirr who has a passion for fashion and the desire to create fashion that is obtainable to everyone. Sadie’s Secret Boutique offers a wide range of apparel to fit any woman’s unique sense of style and is a fashionista’s best place to create the perfect wardrobe.
Why did you start your own business?
Owning a Boutique was always a lifelong dream of mine due to my love for fashion. My mission became wanting a career doing what I love and never giving up on my dreams. After a year of planning, I felt that now was the right time for me to start this new venture.
What are the best things about running your own business?
When you own a fashion boutique, you control your work hours, and are on the front line of all the latest fashion trends. It’s work that I enjoy. Having two small children, I am able to balance family life with working life. My aim is make women look good and feel good about themselves, and that to me, is very rewarding.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
My Boutique is situated in a rural area, but I will try to turn that into a positive by making each customers shopping experience a personal one, affording them more time to shop in a relaxed environment and offer them guidance and advice on all kinds of style. Another challenge would be keeping all social media platforms updated on a daily basis to keep an interest going.
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
Go for it, take a chance & never give up on something important to you. There is a lot of support out there.
