Can you describe your business?
Hair Boutique by Margaret is a new salon opened in the Omagh Enterprise centre.
Our aim is to lift your confidence, raise an eyebrow and have you feeling very happy leaving the salon. We provide cuts, colouring and up styles.
In a relaxed refurbished salon, with private parking, you can be sure to leave your worries and stresses at the door.
Why did you start your own business?
From working in a salon at the age of 17. I’ve always had a love of hair dressing and always wanted to run a salon. To use the highest quality products and to create a professional and caring environment for my clients and staff, the only way to do this was to do it on my own.
What are the best things about running your own business?
I love the challenge of running my own business, meeting new clients, keeping the friendships I make along the way and seeing customers return time and time again.
Being able to balance personal & work life can be difficult but owning my own business makes it a little bit easier.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
The main challenges facing the business is firstly getting your name established when you set up as people don’t know your skillset, so really its getting that trust in people and hopefully give them a service they’ll love.
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
Have a good head on your shoulders, be prepared to work hard and put in the hours, keep focused on the positives when things seem difficult, above all go with your gut, it’ll be worth it in the end!
