Can you describe your business?
The Platter Women are cheese platter specialist, based in Omagh Co Tyrone. We create culinary masterpieces for all types of occasion, including weddings, birthdays, christenings, corporate functions and everything in between.
We source local and imported cheeses, cured meats, antipasto delicacies, artisan breads, dips, seasonal fruits – all styled to WOW and enjoy! Our goal is to take the stress away from party planning in your home, so you don’t have to worry about a thing!
Why did you start your own business?
I wanted to bring a smile to people’s faces at parties and gatherings and provide them with beautiful colorful foods that people enjoy.
What are the best things about running your own business?
I can put my own spin on things and I can organize my own schedule. I really enjoy working with customers to provide them with a product and service that both of us are happy with.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
Balancing increasing costs of the foods while still trying to provide a quality product at a fair price.
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
If you have an idea, just text it out on family and friends and take it step by step. Also take people’s feedback on board.
