Can you describe your business?

Pretty Little Styles is a unique hairdressing business located in the Omagh area that offers house call outs that allows the client to enjoy having their hair professionally done in the comfort of their own home. Pretty Little Styles understands the importance of a consultation and offers a free pre appointment consultation located at base camp of Pretty Little Styles. Here the client will explore many different shades from the Wella colour charts, Koleston perfect ME+, Illumina and Color Touch. We have it all so clients will feel spoilt for choice! We will also take into consideration skin tone, eye colour and face shape to discover what shades and cuts best compliment each individual as every client is unique.

Why did you start your own business?

After 14 years of working for other talented employers and learning from some amazing stylists I now feel ready and confident to take the next step in my hairdressing journey. I also wanted a better balance between my work and family life and as a business owner I now have the best of both worlds.

What are the best things about running your own business?

I have the luxury of doing a job I am very passionate about and I am very excited to finally get to explore my own true creativity. The best thing about running my own business is that I make all the decisions which gives me a thrill to know now anything is possible.

What are the main challenges facing the business?

The main challenges facing the business so far is the huge competition. Lets face it there’s some fantastic hairdressers in the town and honestly, I see myself as one of them! I’m more than up for the challenge, so I have made my prices very competitive that most salons will find very difficult to compete with. Everybody loves a bargain and they also love beautiful, professional hair results. Pretty Little Styles can deliver both, having less overheads to worry about and just the important heads to care about.

What advice would you give to someone starting a business?

My advice would be take your time and don’t rush in. I’m 30 now and have 14 years of hairdressing experience under my belt which automatically creates trust between me and my clients. I have also been able to open my business with not only fantastic salon experience but with a clientele base too, which will be a great starter point for me to help grow my business.

Can you describe your experience of running a business in three words or less?

Exciting and rewarding
